David Roane teaches art, coaches, and serves on the diversity team at Noble & Greenough School in Dedham, Massachusetts. He graduated from Princeton University with a B.A. in English and did graduate studio work at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the University of Chicago, where he pursued his MFA in painting and drawing. Roane also taught at a public charter school in Washington, D.C., and as an adjunct professor at the University of the District of Columbia. His teaching experience extends across the continuum between public and private, urban and suburban, secondary and higher education, with the ultimate goal of promoting art as a self-empowering tool for the creation and communication of meaning.
