BE Inspired to Write through Wisdom from the Alcotts
How may the wisdom of the past inspire us to creatively tell our story today? Join Be Well Be Here founder, author and writing instructor Lara Wilson for this creative writing workshop inspired by the words of Concord’s Alcott family. We’ll experiment with ways to engage the observational mode and wisely choose expressive language that resonates. Discover writing techniques that open the mind, ease the intellect and ignite your inner wisdom. All levels welcome!
Compelling Characters: Jo March’s Words of Wisdom Wednesday, September 21 at 7:00 – 8:00 pm
Be inspired by the writerly longings of Jo March from Louisa May Alcott's Little Women: “I want to do something splendid before I go into my castle—something heroic, or wonderful—that won’t be forgotten after I’m dead. I don’t know what, but I’m on the watch for it, and mean to astonish you all, some day. I think I shall write books…”
Mysteries of Imagination: Louisa May Alcott & Mary Oliver Thursday, September 29 at 7:00 – 8:00 pm
Discover the literary mysteries that spark your imagination as we consider the creative process as described by poet Mary Oliver and Louisa May Alcott, who wrote “Human minds are more full of mysteries than any written book and more changeable than the cloud shapes in the air.” — from The Abbot's Ghost: A Christmas Story
