Write to Unite!

In light of recent atrocious events at our nation’s border, Be Well Be Here collaborates with #AuthorsAgainstBorderAbuse to offer a unique writing experience on the weekend of August 10 - 11. Proceeds from these events will go to the International Rescue Committee, a top-rated non-profit organization that works in community to reunite families, provide legal council and offer emotional support.

Saturday, August 10 at 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Join us in literary Concord, MA for a day of first-class writing workshops taught by authors and experienced Grub Street instructors Michelle Hoover, Marjan Kamali, Whitney Scharer and Lara Wilson (curator of the Concord Festival of Authors). Workshops will focus on various elements of craft, including characterization, details, the writing process, and plot and pacing. $150 entry fee. All proceeds support the International Rescue Committee.

Sunday, August 11 at 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Sign up for a 30-minute one-on-one session with experienced manuscript consultants, who will provide personalized feedback, advice for next steps and heartfelt encouragement. Our instructors will present a panel discussion on craft and publication: Keep Writing! How Stories Unite Us All. Stay on site to write, reflect peacefully, and/or debrief quietly with consultants.

$150 entry fee. All proceeds support the International Rescue Committee.

Attend both days for $250 to refine your writing,

and support border children and their families through the work of the IRC!
