What is Forest Bathing? Forest Bathing comes from the Japanese Shinrin (forest) Yoku (bathing, or what may be considered ‘immersion’). It’s the simple practice of entering the forest and paying attention mindfully. Forest Bathing is a remarkable, evidence-based wellness practice. As Japanese doctor and researcher, Qing Li, writes in his book, Forest Bathing: How Trees Can Help You Find Health and Happiness, “spending time in a forest can reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and anger; strengthen the immune system; improve cardiovascular and metabolic health; and boost overall well-being.”
