CHAKRA VINYASA YOGA WORKSHOP:
Applying the Chakra Model of Subtle Energy to Yoga
Inquiry in Personal Practice & Daily Life.
With Nicole A Grant, MS, C-IAYT, E-RYT500
A 2.25-hour workshop (with 15-minutes after the workshop for questions & reflections)
Get creative and have some fun with your yoga in Nicole’s engaging introductory 2.0-hour workshop on the Chakra Model of Subtle Energy through Yoga Practice.
The balance of energies in the whole of our being – the yin and the yang, the feminine and the masculine, shadow and light, contraction and expansion, intake and output, receptivity and offering, passivity and exertion – is maintained by an intricate tapestry of cells that comprise our organ tissues, circulatory, cardio-respiratory, gastrointestinal, endocrine, immune and nervous systems AND over 72’000 energy channels, or nadis, that connect and irrigate the whole. Yoga methodology is inherently brilliant at enhancing communication between the brain and the body, mind and matter, to bring these systems back into functional harmony and health. The more we move towards physical, emotional-energetic and spiritual healing, the more this harmony begins to reflect itself in our relationships and in our lives.
In this workshop we will specifically explore:
§ Our four sources of energy (prana)
§ The ‘language’ of energy and emotion through yoga
§ The Chakra Model of Subtle Energy and how it can refine our personal yoga practice (self-regulation)
§ How to work with the tools and techniques of yoga methodology to refine our experience of energy in practice (using bandhas, dristhi, kriyas, mudras and mantras), and
§ How to work with our yoga practices to embody our understanding of the chakras and subtle energy in our relationships and in how we approach daily life (co-regulation).
Open to All Levels of Practice 😊

This workshop is for you if:
ü You wish to know more about the chakras and how they serve to frame and conceptualize energy in more practical terms…
ü You want to refine your understanding and experience of how deficient, stuck and excessive energy patterns show up in your yoga practice; and how your yoga practice inherently begins to shift these energetic dynamics by the Attention and Intention you bring to it…
ü You want to learn how to work effectively with specific tools and techniques of yoga methodology to bring experiential awareness to embodied subtle energy states in practice
ü You want to use yoga inquiry (the attitude with which we engage our practice) to shift the physical and social-emotional energetic patterns and dynamics that pull us off-center so that we stand steadfast within ourselves (self-regulation) AND perceive and minimize our habitual reactivity to what shows up when engage with others and the circumstances of life (co-regulation). This is Resilience, and makes us Free(er)!
About Your Guide:
Nicole delights in having intimate conversations about this experiential practice she is so passionate about, called yoga. If you give her the floor, she’ll impart everything she has learned from life and yoga—she has a lot to say and much to share! Nicole fell headfirst into yoga when she was introduced to the Astanga Vinyasa lineage of Sri K. Patthabi Jois back in 1994, first through Beryl Bender Birch (Power Yoga author), then through her community of yoga peeps at Yoga Vermont and in-depth study with Nancy Gilgoff of Maui. Nicole brings many, many years of study with Zoë Stewart (Arlington, MA) in the BKS Iyengar tradition to her instructional style, using discerning verbal cues, demonstration (when appropriate) and gentle hands-on assists (optional) to guide the practitioner through a wisely-sequenced yoga practice. Each vinyasa-style practice embodies the chakra model of subtle energy and explores the art of being present in every moment, with every breath. In this way, mind and body co-regulate so that the innate intelligence of each posture unfolds moment to moment, and this experiential intelligence extends itself to manifest in how we engage in personal, professional and spiritual relationship, and with living.
Nicole is a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT), Reiki master, proactive speaker, Journey Dance™ Facilitator and author of Yogini’s Dilemma: To Be or Not To Be A Yoga Teacher, 2020 (to be published Summer 2020; audiobook available on Audible late March 2020), which explores the philosophical and experiential underpinnings of yoga practice through the lens of a yogini, female yoga practitioner, and longtime guide. She can be reached through her website www.yogamandala.com.
